Price Increase FAQ

Updated: Dec 2

To keep up with rising business costs, we will increase the prices of drinks in all our locations. To be transparent about the price increase and answer some of your potential questions, we’ve created a Frequently Asked Questions summary.

When are prices increasing?

You will see increased drink prices in all our locations from the 1st of December 2024

What prices are increasing?

The price of drinks will increase. For example, a flat white was £4.20 and is now £4.50.

With the increase, we hope to raise an additional 5.14% in income over the next 12 months. This is so we have the working capital to continue with our 2025 plans:

  1. Never compromise on the quality of our coffee and pay a price per KG of green coffee that is considered fair.

  2. To invest in wage development across the company.

  3. To invest in exciting operational changes… more information to follow in 2025!

What is the new premium variety pricing?

We are passionate about showcasing the finest coffee varieties produced in the cloudy mountains of Colombia. Our constant single-origin varieties include Yellow Caturra, Caturra-Timour and Castillo, which can be requested when ordering your coffee at no additional charge. Our specially processed varieties can be requested for a £0.50p charge, and rare varieties such as Gesha can be requested for a £1 charge.

Lastly, we’ve introduced a £3.50 batch brew as a more affordable coffee option. In each café, we will prepare the batch brew each day with some of the rare single-origin varieties we have to offer, including the likes of Gesha, Pink Borbon, and Orange Borbon.

Why are we increasing prices?

We are increasing our prices to keep up with rising business costs. We are a social enterprise committed to supporting coffee-growing communities in Colombia. We do this by showcasing excellent coffee varieties produced by Indigenous communities and families who are victims of conflict. If Colombian farmers produce an excellent product, they should be able to share in the benefits it brings - this is what we call Participatory Capitalism.

With serious consideration, we've done our best to keep these changes low as we know rising costs are affecting everyone. We are so grateful for your support on our mission to go beyond fair trade and hope you will continue this journey for ethical caffeine with us. If we couldn’t support coffee producers' needs first, we would be undermining our mission statement and the essence of this project.

If you would like more details on the numbers that influenced our decision to increase prices, you can find them in our most recent The Costs of Your Flat White report, attached bellow, where we illustrate the cost-related challenges of running our Social Enterprise.
