Borbon is one of the first branches in the coffee family tree. Stolen by the French from the Turks in the port of Mocha, Yemen; it was taken to a French colony near Madgascar. The island eventually became British territory, used as a prison for Napoleon Bonaparte -famously a keen coffee lover- and then returned to the French, who went on to name the island La Reunion.

This batch comes from Villa Pastora farm, started by Abuela Pastora, who bought the land in the mid eighties and became a pioneer in growing the Typica variety as well as the classic Borbon.
